Another Maryknoll Get-Together

Last night, Grace fetched me. We went to Chili's Greenhills for another get-together with fellow Maryknollers.

We have two Balikbayans. Aside from Mimi, my cousin, there was Vina Guytingco-Anderson. There were 12 of us. Here we are:

Food was mostly pica-pica. I loved the calamari. There was bottomless nachos with salsa dip. Almost all of them drank margarita. I just had Coke Light.

Conversation focused on such topics as: our children, plans for 50th birthday celebration, teachers in high school and grade school, crazy things we did in school, what we remembered about each other, and more.

Lo gave away her second book and signed them. She wrote "Nothing is Impossible with God" in the copy she gave me.

We ended up going home past 12.

Today, I was supposed to hear first Friday mass. But I wasn't feeling well and had a bum stomach so I just stayed in my room.

I checked my inbox. Then started working on my report due Friday.

Gettogether at Milky Way

Yesterday, I had another gettogether at Milky Way.

Grace again fetched me. Beda rode with us.

Our Balikbayan was Lovelie. She is soooh slim and beautiful! In high school, she was rather plump.

The occasion was well-attended. There were about 18 of us.

Food was wonderful: crispy pata, fried hito, tokwa't baboy, adobong mushrooms, crispy pata, binagoongang vegetables, ginatang puso ng saging, paksiw na baboy, pancit palabok...not sure if I got everything right.

Since it was such a large group, conversation had to be broken into small groups. Ours were on fellow batchmates, family, work, turning gold, and bucket lists. Speaking of bucket list, read my next post, "My Bakit List" and have a good laugh and maybe be inspired.

Everyone was concerned about my health. I said I'm in remission. As usual, they did not make me pay.

Grace brought me home.

Gettogether at Little Quiapo

Today, Grace fetched me. We went to Little Quiapo along Malakas Street, Quezon City.

We had a gettogether with fellow Maryknollers - Beda, Bing-Bing, Rannie, Sandy, Tina, Dang, Dolly, Liz, Carrie, and Maitet. Sandy and Maitet were the balikbayans.

We ordered chicharon, pancit palabok, kare-kare, rellenong bangus, tokwa't baboy, rice, dalandan juice, softdrinks, halo-halo and mais con hielo. Yummy!

As usual, there was a lot of picture taking.

There was a lot of kwento (chatting) about the good old days as well as current events and present goings on of people we know.

I ordered a small bilao (round "plate") of pancit bihon as my mom told me.

Before bringing me home, Grace brought Maitet to Manila Polo Club. I waited in the car for a while.

I met Maitet's sisters, Sylvia and Tata. More picture-taking.
