Work and Play

Work came in late today. So it's a working night for me!

On Friday, I will be meeting with a client on another project.

It's great to be working again!

--------
I have been playing scrabble in FB and my average is now 47%. Yehey. Slowly but surely I want to go beyond 50%.

Yesterday, I watched "Picture Perfect" starring Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Bacon. I like the romantic comedy because it's about honesty.

Tomorrow, I will be having lunch with some friends. It's bonding time.

--------
A little bit of humor:

On the day I gave birth, I went to the Delgado Clinic to choose a room. I just chose a small room to save on money.

I put under general anesthesia because I gave birth by Caesarian section. So, when I woke up, I was already inside my room but a much bigger one than the one I chose.

My first words? Instead of inquiring about my baby, I asked, "Magkano 'to?" (How much is this?)

Why Didn't I?

I am inclined to accept that job offer in Pasig. But why oh why didn't I tell them of my illnesses? All they know is that is I have osteoporosis. I should have told them of my diabetes, bipolar mood disorder and multiple myeloma. Points against me I guess.

I hope they will still consider getting me despite these illnesses.

Tomorrow, it's back to the hospital for my treatment. Then, I will have lunch at a friend's house. It was her birthday last September 3. I said I will be late.

On Tuesday, I will be fetched to discuss matters with the research agency. I know they need my services so maybe there's nothing to worry about.

------
Today, it's work and play. I just cleared the translation of a questionnaire. And I played several rounds of Scrabble in FB. My average has gone up to 44%. Getting there, getting there...

------
Here's a photo which made me smile:

The simple joys of innocence!

Happy Grandparents' Day!

We didn't know it, but it's grandparents' day today. So we had an on-the-spot family celebration.

My youngest brother and his family couldn't make it. Too bad. But the rest came over to the condo.

There was inihaw na baboy, chicken inasal, KFC, fish fillet, pork asado, pancit canton, yang chow, plain rice, softdrinks, and mais con hielo. Yummy!

Food was plentiful that everyone brought home food and there was more than enough for us here.

----

I got to talk to my client in Singapore. She agreed to my professional fee and to pay me half before the month ends. Yehey!

I was eager to work on the project, I finished doing the questionnaire for it.

----
I am improving my scrabble playing skills. And I learned a trick - play with low-scoring opponents. He he. When my average goes up, I will fight against the veterans again.

----
If you are a grandparent already, happy day to you! If you are a grandchild, greet your lolo and lola before the day ends.

Nicolas, Scrabble, and an Interview

Last Saturday, I watched a movie entitled, "Gone in 60 Seconds". It's an old movie but I have yet to watch a Nicolas Cage film that I didn't like. I'm not fond of action films but one that stars Nicolas gets my attention.

I have been playing scrabble at Facebook and sometimes I win, most times I lose. That's because I play against "veterans" who have played hundreds of games and have won more than 50% of the time! Oh well, as time goes on, I will improve my playing skills. Not to mention grow my vocabulary.

This afternoon, a headhunter interviewed me over the phone. Talk about saving time and energy! It lasted for 45 minutes. I think I did pretty well. I was very honest, especially about illnesses. I am hoping they won't take those against me. The company is a multinational FMCG but the location is far! As far as Faranacue! Haha.

Hope I get the job! The headhunter said I'm their only candidate. But then again, the employer is using other executive search firms. So I need a lot of prayers, folks!

My Turn

As mentioned in an earlier post, it's my turn to be charity patient. I received Velcade for free today. Even if it was directly administered, there was no pain.

To compute for the dosage, I have had to be measured - weight and height. My weight is 66 kgs. and height is 4'7". That's how heavy and short I am! Oh no!

I wrote a short report- part of a topline.

I was supposed to go out today with a friend. But our merienda and movie date didn't push through. Too bad.

So I just played online scrabble. Oh well...

Mom is out. She visited her sister to get the pair of pants given to her by her niece. She's on her way back but will pass by the market to buy fruits. I requested for pancit canton or anything that would be convenient for her to buy.

God bless my mom!

Me and the Computer

Yesterday, I didn't do any work. Why? Because I kept losing to the computer! For about 4 or 5 games in a row, I lost in online scrabble to a robot. Poor me! I didn't stop till I could recover from my losing streak.

Today, I played again but I decided to do some work. Not rush but it gave me some sense of accomplishment.

I haven't been eating dinner these past few days. I hope to lose some pounds but the scale isn't showing it. Oh I do hope I will see my weight go down to below 140. I remember though that once upon a time, I weighed 190 pounds!

Why I'm Addicted

Yes, that's right. I'm practically addicted to online scrabble.

I play against the "robot"or the computer. I have advanced to advanced level.

I get to learn new words - the spelling of new words at least. The meanings, I have to look them up.

I discover new ways of playing the game. For instance, I recently discovered that when the word "hint" lights up, there's a potentially high scoring word that I have to figure out. They give up to three hints. Which letters (if not all) are to be used. The word begins with what letter and ends with what letter. And where should the letters be placed. And there's the dictionary. Many times I end up guessing the word. And sometimes, I come up with a word with a higher score than what the computer had in mind! Ha ha. Could it be? I'm smarter than the computer?

My highest score is 456. My personal best is three scrabble words in one game. For me, a game where I scored 400+ is good enough.

My friends prefer to play Farmville in Facebook. I prefer to play online scrabble in www.pogo.games. Try it!

Report Done/Online Scrabble

At last, I was able to finish my FGD report. Took me a while to get in the mood though.

I played several rounds of online scrabble. I stopped only until I reached my goal score of 400 (I had two scrabbles in that round for the words "unearned" and "injuries").

What to do for the rest of the day? Choices are: watch a movie with my son, continue reading my book, write something, watch TV, color coloring book, YouTube. This is my life!

Drinking Water

My mom and sister are drinking two liters of water daily. I googled how much is two liters in ounces and it comes out to equivalent to 8 and a half glasses a day. I think I shall try drinking two glasses a meal and one to one and half glasses in between meals.

I continued with my long report. I finished one major part of it.

I played online scrabble and won three games.

Certified Scrabble Addict

I have to admit it...I'm now an addict. A certified online scrabble addict!

I can play online scrabble for hours!

Today, I did just that.

I first played several rounds.

Then I did the tab specs of the project I am currently working on.

Then for the rest of the day, online scrabble!

It is really so much fun. And I have moved up to advanced stage (I used to be beginner then intermediate).

_______

I was alone practically the whole day. Since I don't cook, I ordered Jollibee for lunch and Mcdo for dinner. Poor me!

Online Scrabble

I didn't get to work today because the data were erroneous.

So I did three things - eat, sleep and...to my delight, online scrabble!

Online scrabble is even more wonderful than playing scrabble by myself. I get to choose how many "robots" I want to play with. And, I don't have to compute the score. The only "hassle" part is there are 30-second intermissions to give way for the sponsors. That's how little you suffer for getting to play the game for free.
