It's My Son's Birthday

That's right. My son turned 22 today.

We had a "simple" celebration. I ordered Shakey's delivery - two kinds of pizza (Manager's Choice and Pizza Blanca), 7-piece chicken, basket of mojos, two single-serve spaghetti, one Coke Zero and one Sprite in cans. Total bill? About P1,800 inclusive of the tip I gave the delivery boy.

There was too much food for mom, RR and I so it would stretch till tomorrow.

Mom even bought Selecta ice cream which of course, I am not allowed to eat.

Time flies so fast! It seems only yesterday when I first lay eyes on my son. Those were among the happiest moments of my life. He continues to be the joy of my life!

I remember the times we would go to the mall together and he would ask me to buy Pokemon toys. We would watch movies. We would eat at McDonald's, Jollibee, and later, our favorite restaurant was TGIF.

These days, we hardly go out anymore. But it's great to be living together. At least, I get to see him everyday.

I'm glad that my son has given up smoking and drinking. He reads the Bible regularly. I feel so blessed to have a son like RR.

Happy birthday, Ramon Rafael!

My 49th Birthday

I spent my 49th birthday in a simple way.

Breakfast was two pieces of pandesal. (How simple can that be?)

Then, for lunch, friends came over and brought salad, two kinds of pancit, siomai, two kinds of cake, and Coke Light. I got another duster as gift.

I took a nap and worked for a while.

Then, Jobert picked me up. He was with Lovely and two Fil-Am friends. We ate dinner at Cibo in Gateway. Food was great. Upon Jobert's insistence, the crew sang Happy Birthday and gave us free cake.

So many people emailed, texted me, called me up and left birthday messages in Facebook. I feel so loved and blessed!

Thank You, Lord, for a wonderful birthday!

Day before my Birthday

Last night's FGD was so-so. Could have been better.

I was supposed to facilate again tonight but I thought I had a client meeting. Turned out, the meeting didn't push through. That's okay because I'm not in the mood for facilitating tonight.

I just worked again on my long report.

It's the day before my birthday. Already, I am receiving a lot of birthday greetings.

So, I will be turning 49 tomorrow. Yahoo! Not quite a golden girl yet but I have one year to relish before I can officially say I lived for half a century.

Whenever I reminisce, I always think, I lived a good life. I had my share of fun times and good times. I also had my fair share of sorrows and trials, just like everyone. But I wouldn't exchange places with anyone! And I doubt if any one would want to exchange places with me! ha ha. After all I have gone through!

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life. Please give me many more years to live.

To My Cousin, Karen

Exactly a week ago, my cousin Karen, turned 47 and this is how she looks. (What do you know, beauty runs in the Gamo family.)

Karen is a singer based in Spain. Visit her site at www.karen1962es.multiply.com to hear her sing. She dedicated one of my favorite songs, "Rainy Days and Mondays" to me.

I am grateful to Karen for all she has done for me. She has such a big, generous heart, I cannot count all the things she has given me (aside from happy memories, advice and money). Let me see, Karen has bought me a television, desktop, laptop, 2 webcams, digicam, celphone, DVD player...it's a pretty long list.

So here is my tribute to you, Karen:

Para mi prima muy bonita, Karen - Yo quiero dar te rendar homenaje en Español pero mi Español es muy mal so Ta-Tagalugin ko na lang (For my very beautiful cousin, Karen - I would like to give you a tribute in Spanish but my Spanish is very bad so I shall just write in Tagalog)

Kasin Karen...(Cousin Karen)

...Tulad ni Santa Klaus, mapagbigay KA-REN (Like Santa Claus, you are generous also)

...Tulad ni Sta. MoniKA at iba pang santa, mabait KA-REN (Like St. Monica and other saints, you are kind also)

...Tulad ni Karen Karpenter, Sharon Kuneta, at Charisse PempengKo, sa larangan ng pagKanta, mahusay KA-REN (Like Karen Carpenter, Sharon Cuneta and Charisse Pempengco, in the field of singing, you are very good also)

...Tulad ng KitKat, Krispy Kreme at ChoKnut, sweet KA-REN (Like KitKat, Krispy Kreme and Chocnut, you are sweet also)

At higit sa lahat (and most of all)

...Tulad ni Kristine Hermosa at aKo, maganda KA-REN (Like Kristine Hermosa and me, you are beautiful also)

Sa maikling salita, KaKaiba ka talaga, KAREN! Wala kang Katulad! Tunay kang may "K"! (In short, you are unique, Karen! You are unlike any other! You really have a "K"!)...Huh?

Muchos gracias! Belated Feliz Cumpleaños! Te amo mucho, Karen! (Thank you very much! Belated Happy Birthday! I love you very much, Karen!)
