Movies

Last night, I watched "Roomboy" on Cinema One. Interesting movie. The lead character is Luis, played by Polo Ravales. Pretty good acting although he kept on smoking the entire movie.

I also got to watch my favorite movie, "Slumdog Millionaire" on Star Movies. I think I will never tire of watching this movie. Ha ha.

I didn't do any work today because I need to verify the bases of the summary tables and charts.

Drinking Water

My mom and sister are drinking two liters of water daily. I googled how much is two liters in ounces and it comes out to equivalent to 8 and a half glasses a day. I think I shall try drinking two glasses a meal and one to one and half glasses in between meals.

I continued with my long report. I finished one major part of it.

I played online scrabble and won three games.

New Project

Last night, I watched "Deception" on Star Movies. Nice film. Enough to keep me awake till midnight. I love suspense movies and happy endings.

Today, a new project came in. It's pretty long so I did not finish it.

Hearty McDo Meal

Today, I was able to collect two checks from a client. I had them encashed right away. Most of the money went to my mom.

I played online scrabble. I cleaned my inbox and fixed my desktop. Not much to do.

I was supposed to go out with a friend today. But he couldn't make it. Instead, I ordered McDonald's delivery - Fillet o Fish, large fries, McNuggets with Rice and Coke Zero. What a hearty meal! And to think it's Lent! (Sorry, Lord.)

Finished a Report

At last! I finished writing my tracer report! What a relief...

I called up a Client. Both my checks are ready for pick up tomorrow. Yahoo!

Now, I have time to rest. I wonder when my next project will be?

Gifts

Last night, my sister passed by to give me her birthday gifts to me - four bras, three panties, and one facial powder (Cover Girl). Yehey!

I continued with my tracer report and will be through in a day or two. Another yehey!

Quiet Day at Home

I spent a quiet day at home. After my usual nap, I worked on the report on a tracer study. I lack one more respondent so I cannot finalize the charts yet.

I called up a client and I have one check ready. The other one is not yet prepared and they asked me to call back on Wednesday. I want to collect both checks on the same day so that I will save on transportation.

February is a little bit better than January. I look forward to March. May it bring more projects!

Another ChowKing Lunch

I had another Chow King lunch today. This time, yang chow with sweet and sour fish fillet. I had star apple for dessert.

I finished my long report. At last!

Then, I started another report which is due on Thursday. I am sure to finish before then.

Another working Sunday for me!

Sleep and Work

Half of the day (or more) I slept.

The rest of the day, I worked on my long report. Yehey, I'm almost done!

Then, I shall work on another report.

I love report-writing. I enjoy putting numbers into words and making recommendations.

It's a simple life I lead but I love it.

Day After My Birthday

It's the day after my birthday and I continue to get greetings in my email and Facebook. I feel so loved!

I had a client meeting today. We went all the way to Montalban for some peace and quiet. We ate Chow King for brunch.

When I reached home, I took a long nap.

Then, I worked on my long report because it's due already. I'm giving myself until tomorrow to finish it.

Busy, busy.

My 49th Birthday

I spent my 49th birthday in a simple way.

Breakfast was two pieces of pandesal. (How simple can that be?)

Then, for lunch, friends came over and brought salad, two kinds of pancit, siomai, two kinds of cake, and Coke Light. I got another duster as gift.

I took a nap and worked for a while.

Then, Jobert picked me up. He was with Lovely and two Fil-Am friends. We ate dinner at Cibo in Gateway. Food was great. Upon Jobert's insistence, the crew sang Happy Birthday and gave us free cake.

So many people emailed, texted me, called me up and left birthday messages in Facebook. I feel so loved and blessed!

Thank You, Lord, for a wonderful birthday!

Day before my Birthday

Last night's FGD was so-so. Could have been better.

I was supposed to facilate again tonight but I thought I had a client meeting. Turned out, the meeting didn't push through. That's okay because I'm not in the mood for facilitating tonight.

I just worked again on my long report.

It's the day before my birthday. Already, I am receiving a lot of birthday greetings.

So, I will be turning 49 tomorrow. Yahoo! Not quite a golden girl yet but I have one year to relish before I can officially say I lived for half a century.

Whenever I reminisce, I always think, I lived a good life. I had my share of fun times and good times. I also had my fair share of sorrows and trials, just like everyone. But I wouldn't exchange places with anyone! And I doubt if any one would want to exchange places with me! ha ha. After all I have gone through!

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life. Please give me many more years to live.

FGDs

Last night, I had my last of six FGDs. It went well.

I thought that was the end of my FGDs. Turns out, there will be another one tonight because the facilitator got sick. So, it's a working night for me!

I wonder how my mom's kidney stone procedure went? I hope everything will turn out fine.

VD

It's Valentines day and I don't have a date. I didn't go out.

Mom just bought food from Savory - chicken, noodles and fried rice. Great!

I worked on my long report.

I doubt if I will ever have a "special someone" for the rest of my life. I guess I just have to be content with what I have. And be thankful that I had a lot of happy experiences with past loves. That's enough.

Despedida

Today, we had a despedida for one of my aunts who is going back to the US.

There were just a few of us because many could not make it.

The food was great : pancit malabon, chicken inasal, two kinds of longganisa, liempo, rice, and my uncle's famous kaldereta. Delicious! For dessert, we had manggoes, pineapple, papaya and chocolates.

Talk was "assorted" but I kept quiet because I was tired from last night's FGD. I just want to sleep!

Another FGD

The FGD last night went fine. Except that it lasted for two hours. Maybe it's because there were six participants instead of just four or five.

I still have a few reports to go. I should be done by next week.

I didn't win in the lotto. Yehey! No need to be afraid of kidnappers. Ha ha.

Better FGD

The FGD last night was about as good as the previous one last Friday. As I get familiar with the material, things get better. It's not easy facilitating groups with doctors as participants. One has to have some familiarity with the medical jargon.

I finished another category in my long report yesterday and I will work on one or two more categories today.

Tonight I have yet another FGD.

It's great to be working despite all my illnesses.

Facing the Giants

I did watched the DVD my son gave me, "Facing the Giants". I cried several times even if the story is quite predictable. I love inspiring stories showing God's power and faithfulness. I wish there were more movies like this.

I worked on my report today. I finished another category except for the conclusions.

From time to time, my former dreams come back. I dream of putting up a gift shop called Humor and More. A restaurant called Ha-Ha-Inan Res-Tawa-Rant. A movie production company. Ahh! Dreams...

Work Over Play

I could have gone to Bagoong Club today with a friend. We could have had a poetry session again. We could have enjoyed the food there. But he didn't have a car.

More importantly, I had work to do. There's this long project that I have to work on. It has several categories. So work, I must.

My mom went out. She will have dinner with her sisters and my cousin, Charito who is treating them, particularly my Auntie Baby from the States. They will eat in Dussit Hotel. How I envy them! I will just content myself with siopao.

My son is asking me to watch "Facing the Giants". Hmm...I am tempted to watch. he he.

Working Sunday

It's Sunday and I did two things - sleep and work.

I worked on two projects. I wrote a report but did not finish because it's quite long. I also emailed again to respondents for my tracer study.

My mom has a kidney stone which has to be "blasted". We need about P90,000. As usual, we are relying on God for providence.

The lottery jackpot is upwards of P130 million already. Who will be the lucky winner? It's mind boggling to think of myself having that much money. But I know that it will also bring problems. Good thing I didn't buy a ticket!

Better FGD

The FGD held yesterday was much better than the previous day. Except for some trembling of my hands at the beginning, I think I did better as a moderator. The group was also better in answering the questions.

Today, I worked on a report. It's a long one so I won't be through till maybe Monday.

Jobert and I wrote another poem via text, entitled "Lovely Days with You":

Every day we see each other
Hoping this moment lasts forever
We enjoy each other’s company
Expressing happy feelings so freely

Walking along the beach, you hold my hand
Enjoying the cool breeze and the soft sand
We laugh and play like children
A happiness that’s heaven-sent
We never seem to run out of things to say
When cheerfulness will always find a way
I always thank God for you
For a life that may be lived anew

FGD

I facilitated the first of six FGDs (focus group discussions) yesterday. I'm not too happy with the way I moderated the group. My voice was nervous at the start. I did not use the conversational style when speaking to the participants. I lacked probing questions or overprobed sometimes. I let the participants discuss among themselves and failed to join in their discussion.

I hope I will do better tomorrow.

I worked on a report today. It's quite long so I was not able to finish.

Day at the Hospital

Mom and I spent practically the whole day at the hospital (National Kidney and Transplant Institute) today.

First were blood tests and urinalysis.

Then, brunch at the canteen. I ate kardereta, rice, buko juice and cassava cake.

We waited for the two doctors - my internist and hematologist. While waiting, I chatted with another patient. I prayed the rosary. I read Kerygma magazine. I wrote a proposal. I reviewed an FGD guide. That is what I call productive waiting.

The results were good and bad. My lipid profile is good, creatinine is good, platelet count is normal. But my blood sugar is high, cholesterol is high, and I have UTI. So there were changes in medication.

Back home, more work was waiting for me. So, it's a working evening for me.

Colds and Cough

I was supposed to have an FGD (focus group discussion) today. But God is good. The FGD was postponed for Wednesday.

I would not have been a good moderator because I have colds and cough. Maybe, by Wednesday, my condition will be better.

My tracer study is not going well. We still have only 29 respondents. Oh how to get 71 more?
