Last night, while reading "Google Planet", the electricity went. Blackout! It was so hot I kept fanning myself. I could hardly sleep! I tried opening my laptop but it had no battery. Torture!
The good thing about being deprived of anything is that you appreciate it more when it comes back. The electric fan, air conditioner, computer, the Internet, television, refrigerator, etc.
Today, I went out with Jobert for lunch at Crisostomo Restaurant in Eastwood. We ordered button mushrooms with garlic, laing, bangus belly, and fried fish (pla-pla) shaped in a bowl.
We had a poetry session. And here's our output, "I Wish":
Everywhere I have searched
For a friend like you
Amongst many places and many people
It was you I found to be true
Amidst all the sadness and fears
You were there to comfort me
Happiness I have gladly found
With you, I am truly free
I am sorry if at times I wasn’t there
But you understood why
You accepted me and helped me grow
And that is how I get by
I feel happier when I’m with you
In my heart there is so much peace
From loneliness to a companionship we need
From worries, a welcome release
I wish you all the happiness this life could give
May you find fulfillment and success
Hoping that my loving prayers be answered
So here’s wishing you the very best

Some Days are Better than Others
Yesterday was not a good day. For one, the afternoon FGD was postponed to June 8. So I had to wait long. I was hungry so I had to spend for merienda. Then, in the evening, the FGD among doctors did not go well. I did not do a good job at moderating the group. I feel bad.But today, I saw my friend, Jobert. Although he was late in fetching me, it was worth the wait. We ate at Cafe Adriatico. I first ordered dinuguan. But I was still hungry so I ate pancit palabok.
We wrote a poem together, entitled "New Love".
You came into my life when I was still hurting
Searching and believing that true love is out there
I am eager to discover if you are really the one
Opening my soul for the heart that we could share
You and I, we have much in common
The joy that we have is the sunshine of our day
The laughter we share brings happy moments
Our beautiful love has so many things to say
I treasure each second that I am with you
A loving comfort that brings much affection to me
When we are apart, I feel an emptiness inside
But when we are together, then I feel so free
I am a better person because of you
You have encouraged me to be the best of who I can be
With you in my life, I am glad to be me
For you have taught me how to be true
I wonder, will this new love of ours last?
Because I pray that we shall always be together
I feel so blessed to have found you
A new love that has begun hoping this will last forever
Yes, some days are better than others. Today was one such.
p.s. Jobert said I look like a midget in this picture. Ha ha. True!Monday, January 4, 2010
Teriyaki Boy with Jobert
Today, I waited for hours for Jobert. He said he will pick me up "after lunch". Well, after lunch turned out to be almost 5 pm!
But I used the time to pray the rosary, to text, to chat, to go to the bathroom, to drink medicine, to observe people coming in and going out...and most of all, to grow in patience!
It was all worth the wait! We first exchanged gifts. I gave him the massager I bought for him. He gave me all sorts of stuff from Taiwan - small notebooks, coloring materials, a blouse, a pair of slippers.
We went to Teriyaki Boy in Gateway. We used the elevator so I didn't have to do much walking.
I ordered kani salad and Coke Zero. Later, I also ordered ebi tempura with rice.
Jobert and I wrote two poems. One is entitled, "Kapayapaan", our first Tagalog poem. Then, we wrote "Joy".
Back in the car, we continued to talk about ourselves. Then we prayed together.
Such a joyful time, well spent!
